Sustainable Transition and Innovation. Opportunities in the sustainable food production
On September 9 and 10, Gdańsk will become a meeting place for innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation during the event “Digital and Social Blue Economy: Sustainable Transition and Innovation Opportunities in Sustainable Food Production.”
The event will bring together representatives of clusters, associations, universities, research institutes, SMEs, public and private institutions, as well as experts in technology and sustainability. Participants will explore the opportunities that digitalization creates in key blue economy sectors, including fisheries, aquaculture, logistics, and marine biotechnology.
This event offers a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, build new connections, and contribute to the future of the blue economy by developing new international partnerships and projects. It is designed to support the growth of the blue economy through digitalization and social innovation, promoting more inclusive, sustainable, and competitive business models.
The goal of the event is to strengthen transnational collaboration and encourage the exchange of best practices among key stakeholders across Europe. It also aims to promote sustainability and social inclusion in the transition to a more digital and environmentally friendly economy, while improving access to tools, knowledge, and collaboration networks that support the sector’s transformation.

Financial Support
The Financial Support Call for the upcoming Living Lab in GDAŃSK, Poland is officially open.
The call is open until 30 August 2026.
This event invites social economy SMEs and enabling organisations in the blue sector to participate in the upcoming Living Lab on Blue Economy, which will be held on 9 and 10 September in Gdańsk, Poland.
Eligible organisations can apply for a lump sum contribution of up to €800 to support travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs for up to two participants.
Designed as a collaborative Living Lab, this event will bring together practitioners, experts, and innovators to co-create solutions, exchange experiences, and strengthen the social economy’s contribution to a smarter, greener, and more inclusive blue economy.
